Hi, I’m Michelle, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500). As an overworked social worker seeking to calm my mind and exercise my body, I joined Vasa and practiced a couple of times a week soon making it a daily habit. I learned how yoga was more than a form of exercise; it is a way of living on and off the mat.
What started as curiosity quickly turned into a love for all things yoga and enrollment in two 200 hour programs followed by a 300 hour yoga teacher training. Along my journey, I was surprised to learn how much I enjoy including mudras and mantras into my practice. I discovered my love for teaching Restorative with Yin and Vinyasa following close behind.
I believe it is important for students to focus on how a pose feels rather than how it looks with an understanding that yoga is for EVERYBODY. I strive to encourage others to always be kind and compassionate to their bodies, hearts, and minds. When not on my mat, I’m spending time with family, enjoying nature, watching reruns or relaxing with a good book. I look forward to practicing with you.
