What Our Previous Graduates Are Saying

  • "The Vasa 200 hour YTT is incredibly special because you will gain a lot of insight into many facets of yoga. I completed my training with what felt like so much more knowledge than could fit within 200 hours. An incredibly in depth coverage of anatomy related to yoga as well as learning the history and philosophy of yoga were some of my favorite parts (but spoiler alert, every part was my favorite part). Not only did I learn from my most favorite Vasa teachers, but also met many new teachers along the way via the guest lectures. I can’t recommend this TT enough. You will finish with lifelong friendships as well as enough confidence to teach yoga in any setting. "

    -Kamara (2019 Trainee)

  • "Yoga teacher training at Vasa is difficult to sum up in just a few sentences, but I'll try.  I have practiced yoga all over Southern California and had been considering going through a teacher training program for years.  However, I was always held back by fear of the unknown: I didn't want to make such a considerable investment of time and money without certainty that the caliber of teachers and the quality of the overall program would be top-notch and aligned with my personal interests and priorities.  Enter Vasa 200-hour YTT.  I already knew that Lisa and Chelsea were incredible yoga instructors (and humans!), but they exceeded my expectations in every way during training.  I cannot imagine a more balanced, informative, and inquisitive curriculum or more welcoming, nurturing, and inspiring trainers and fellow trainees.  I can't recommend Vasa'steacher training program highly enough, to any yogi at any level of practice.  Whether you want to teach or simply expand and deepen your personal practice, Vasa YTT is the perfect next step!"

    - Ashley (2017 Trainee)

  •  "I have tremendous gratitude for being able to attend the YTT at Vasa.  Classes dove deeply into the practice, culture, history, and teaching of Yoga.  Instruction was dynamic and exciting with a good balance of structure and flexibility.  It was impressive how much Chelsea and Lisa were able to teach us and the community of collaboration and empathy they created.  This was a profound experience that changed both me and my yoga practice."

    - Tim (2017 Trainee)

FAQs

  • No! The most important thing is that you love yoga, have a regular practice, and are committed to the journey. We recommend at least one year of consistent yoga practice before taking teacher training. If you’re unsure about your experience level, we’re happy to discuss it with you.

  • You don’t need to be a member however, we encourage you to take classes with our Lead Instructors (listed on our Teacher Training faculty). If you’re applying from out of town, you’ll have a phone call with Chelsea as part of the application process.

  • Attendance is required for all scheduled training dates and times. However, exceptions may be made in cases of emergency or with prior approval.

If you miss any hours, you must make them up within the specified timeframe given. If you need extra one-on-one time to catch up you can book make up sessions with an approved teacher at your own expense.
